Make the Move to Mansfield
Dynamic and growing Mansfield is considered one of the best places in Texas to live and raise a family.
The charming city is surrounded by parks and trails giving it a rural, peaceful vibe, a world away from the hustle and bustle of Fort Worth, Dallas and Arlington but still within a 30-minute drive time. Commuters can reach Fort Worth in 20 minutes, even during rush hour.
Developers have taken notice, and master-planned communities are sprinkled throughout the surrounding area. Two new communities worth taking a look at are South Pointe and Rockwood.
South Pointe spans 870 acres and boasts a 4,000-square-foot amenity complex with a resort-style pool to splash in, trails to traverse, two lakes and nine parks. Four onsite Mansfield ISD schools are planned for the community.
Rockwood features oversized homesites and large luxury homes. A planned amenity center will provide a pavilion, fireplace, outdoor grill and kitchen to residents of the upscale community.
Both communities are zoned to Mansfield ISD schools. The district ranks among the top 20 on Niche’s list of top districts in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. The district received a coveted A ranking from the Texas Education Agency in 2019. Mansfield ISD offers
37 college-level Advanced Placement (AP) courses for high school students. Students can begin preparing for Advanced Placement courses as early as fifth grade by electing to take one of the district’s 31 Pre-AP courses.
Midlothian ISD also serves South Pointe students. Niche considers it one of the safest school districts in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. The graduation rate is 95 percent. Students bring home numerous awards from athletic, arts and academic competitions.
Mansfield’s location means residents are never far from attractions such as Sundance Square in downtown Fort Worth, the Dallas Zoo or Six Flags over Texas.
Closer to home, residents can play ball or soccer at Big League Dreams Sports Park, shoot the rapids at Hawaiian Falls Water Park or hit the ice at StarCenter Mansfield. Fieldhouse USA features 12 regulation volleyball courts and eight basketball courts. Nature lovers can explore 80-acre Elmer W. Oliver Nature Park’s trails, wildflowers and
1935 replica windmill. Joe Pool Lake spans 7,700 acres and boasts two marinas and four parks, including two state parks.
When it comes to shopping, the locals head to Historic Downtown Mansfield, Mansfield Town Crossing and the Shops at Broad. The LOT (Live Outdoor Theater) hosts live music, theater performances, movies and special events for Mansfield and surrounding communities. There are numerous places to dine out, but favorites include Cotton Patch Café, Twisted Root Burger Co. and Fish City Grill.
