Rockwall ISD serves most neighborhoods. In 2019, the district received an A rating from the Texas Education Agency. Niche ranks it among the top 50 school districts in the state. In addition to posting strong academic results, students in the district excel at athletics as well as the fine and performing arts, winning state and national awards in UIL competitions.

Rockwall has many claims to fame, but its live music events have earned it the title of Live Music Capital of North Texas. The town hosts five months of concert events each year. The most popular is the Concert by the Lake series. The free summer series boasts local up-and-coming bands playing on the shores of Lake Ray Hubbard.

The lake spans 22,000 acres where nature lovers can fish, kayak, sail, windsurf and more. Waterfront dining is available at The Harbor Rockwall. The 130,000-acre lifestyle center overlooks the lake, attracting more than 83,000 visitors per year.

Golf is a popular activity. The area boasts three golf clubs including Rockwall Golf and Athletic Club, Lakeside Village Golf Course and Buffalo Creek Golf Club.
